Resources

Social Planning requires good recent data, collaborative relationships, and examples of work from other areas. On this page are some of the resources the Social Planning Society uses that hopefully will be useful to other organizations in their work.

Vital Signs is Canada’s most extensive community-driven data program. Spearheaded by Community Foundations of Canada and led in the Comox Valley by the Comox Valley Community Foundation, Vital Signs uses local knowledge to measure the vitality of a community and support action towards improving collective quality of life. Local data gathered through the program is used to support evidence-based, locally relevant solutions to improve the quality of life at the community level.

Basic BC Income and Basic Income Canada are websites that keep the Social Planning Society up to date on what is happening provincially and federally on the advancement of Basic Income.

The Social Planning Board representatives and Staff meet quarterly with other Social Planning organizations on Vancouver Island and Powell River to inform each other about common work. The websites listed as resources have relevant information about Social Planning in other jurisdictions. We invite you to explore them!

The reports are recent local relevant reports that relate to our projects.
