Accessibility Committee

The Comox Valley Social Planning Society and the Comox Valley Accessibility Committee are currently in conversations to create an arrangement to work together for their mutual benefit and to further both groups’ work in the community. The intent is that the Social Planning Society will, subject to local government funding, provide an ongoing administrative structure for the work of the Accessibility Committee.  The Accessibility Committee and Social Planning Society will work together to provide:

  • Education and awareness about accessibility issues through making presentations, information displays and promotional materials
  • A resource for accessibility information regarding transportation, the built environment, accessibility grants and so on
  • Advocacy for improved accessibility, working through CVSPS with local government, businesses and organizations to help make the Comox Valley an inclusive and barrier-free community.

The Comox Valley Accessibility Committee is looking for new members to join our committee. If you are interested in reducing barriers and making the Comox Valley an inclusive and accessible community for EVERYONE please join us. Contact to express your interest!
