In addition to hosting the Comox Valley Regional Accessibility Committee, the Social Planning Society is currently engaged in three main projects that all relate to our commitment to accessibility, equity and reducing poverty.
The Three projects include:
Bringing an Equity Lens to public policy to provide support based on an individual’s level of need, instead of providing the same amount of support to everyone.
Calculating Living Wage for the Comox Valley and encouraging employers to become Living Wage employers and using the Living Wage to advocate for systemic changes to lift people out of poverty.
Coordinating and Completing Accessibility Audits across the Comox Valley with support from Social Planning Council of BC (SPARC)
