Hello supporters of the living wage,

As you may know, the provincial government’s Fair Wages Commission is currently holding a public consultation about the gap between the minimum wage and a living wage in BC. This is of course very relevant to us here at the Living Wage for Families Campaign, and we are excited to be able to give strong direction to the Commission on how to end working poverty and improve quality of life for all British Columbians.

If you/ your organization is participating in this consultation, please take a look at our Key Messages and Recommendations document here. This document outlines in point form several key points you may want to include, and also notes the recommendations we at the Living Wage for Families Campaign are making. Please let me know if you/ your organization will be making a submission and including these points.

To learn more about the Fair Wages Commission and its consultation, visit: https://engage.gov.bc.ca/fairwagescommission/.

The deadline to send in submissions is May 31 at 4:00 pm.

Best,
Halena
